CLAIRE HANKEY

Claire Hankey is a British abstract artist creating atmospheric and evocative nature inspired artworks. Her art offers a viewers a space for calm contemplation, a moment of stillness and connection. Her unique process often combines handmade brushes, vintage papers and multiple layers of paint to create pieces that contain delicate, subtle textures.

Claire studied History of Art at University College London, specialising in British Landscape Painting. After many years teaching art, she has recently become a full time artist and paints from her garden studio and a shipping container, along the banks of The Thames Estuary in Leigh on Sea Essex.
